 Missions

The missions of the PD-DOC are to facilitate and promote inter-institutional clinical and translational research in Parkinson’s disease (PD) by providing specific shared resources:

  1. A centralized and standardized database (the PD-DOC Database) of clinical,
epidemiological/environmental, neuropathological and biological data from subjects
    with PD and controls,
  2. Listings of research materials available at user sites, and
  3. Interconnections to other relevant research databases (Linked Databases
Databases for Sharing, Outside PD Databases).

The goal is to facilitate collaborative clinical and translational research through the collection and sharing of data, thereby improving the opportunity to generate new knowledge regarding the causes, mechanisms and treatments of PD.
