The PD-DOC Database contains data collected by user institutions on patients with Parkinson’s disease and other parkinsonian disorders. In some cases, data is obtained at a single point in time, while in others data is collected repeatedly over time.
In all cases, investigators attempt to complete the full PD-DOC Core Data Set (CDS). For some cases, additional data is collected as part of the PD-DOC recommended "Beyond Core" Data Set (BCDS).
The PD-DOC CDS was established and designed to optimize data analyses and data mining for large numbers of subjects participating in a variety of research studies.
Scientific themes of the PD-DOC Database are:
- Clinicopathologic Correlations
- Genotype-Phenotype Relationships
- Gene-Environment Factors and Interactions
- Biomarker Discovery
