The QE2 Study: Effects of CoEnzyme Q10 in Early Parkinson's Disease, was an NINDS funded pilot study of 80 subjects with early untreated Parkinson's disease (PD). The PI was Clifford Shults, MD at UCSD. It was a randomized, double-blind, parallel group comparison of three doses of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) (300, 600 and 1200 mg/day) versus placebo in patients and do not yet require treatment with levodopa.
